Most of you will have noticed that we have made the decision to cancel the April meeting due to the Coronavirus, we will keep you updated on our website.
This will be the first time we have had to cancel a meeting in twelve years, and I hope you all understand.
We recognise how important meetings are but as we, including Marc and myself, are part of a vulnerable group of people we had to think of their safety first.
As I wrote last week, I am very concerned at the words ‘self isolation’, as we know that grandparents are already feeling isolated and alone when they experience estrangement from their families. It is absolutely vital that as individuals we keep in contact with those who may well be feeling very worried, we can still pick up the phone as far as I am aware that is not going to be banned!
It is in no doubt now that each and everyone of us are going to be affected by this in one way or another, we are facing some difficult decisions to be made, but we must keep checking in with one another.
Our helpline will still operate as it always has done, we as always can be contacted by via email or Skype.
We will get through this, together.
Check out your local group on our website, they will still be answering their phones and emails.
