Dear Estranged Children.

Dear estranged/alienated children,

Here we are at that time of the year again when families come together to share gifts and to enjoy one another’s company.

Sadly you will not be joining with all your family members for all sorts of reasons.

I have no doubt that in your quiet moments you wonder why and wonder where some of your family members are.

What I can say for certain is this.

Your Mum/Dad and grandparents think about you every single day, not just at Christmas.

They wonder what you are up to, what you like doing and what your plans are.

Photos of you are all around the house and conversations are often had as they dust around the shelf, somehow it feels as though you are there.

Every alienated parent/grandparent lives in the hope that one day when you are ready that you pick up the phone or pen, their doors are always open and always will be, and the biscuit tin is full!

At this magical time of the year, we hope that your dreams come true.

Whether you will be busy putting out mince pies and a little glass of something for Santa and the reindeer or out with your friends enjoying the festive spirit, enjoy and have fun, in the knowledge that you are loved.

Jane.
