This is the very last time I write about his subject, to be honest I am sick and tired of having to continually defend myself and Bristol Grandparents Support Group.
There are those out there still giving out misinformation, why?
You will have to ask them.
So, BGSG always has and will continue to support grandparents who make the decision to go to court, although it has to be the very last resort and you must get proper legal advice.
It is true to say that we as a family never went down that route, but it is a personal decision to be made by individuals.
I am aware of grandparents who have ended their life as a direct result of going to court, and the false allegations made about them in court.
As a consequence of that and the views of family members who have contacted me after this devastating event in their lives, BGSG can’t endorse the court route.
Just to be clear, we may not endorse it but that is not saying BGSG won’t support any grandparent who makes that choice.
I don’t think I can make this any clearer to be honest.
More importantly this is a complete waste of my energy, time spent over this sort of misinformation takes away the real task all of us at BGSG hold dear, that is giving support to grandparents when they need help and care.
Ok, so that is the last time I write on this subject.
Much more importantly, you will know that we have a Bench of Hope on Bristol Downs and it has already reunited one family, so we thought it would be great to have another one, so we started a Go fund me page, and today we have reached our target of £800! I can’t thank those who have donated to this enough, you are wonderful.
It would be amazing if we continue to raise money to have enough to give money to another support group to let them get a Bench of Hope in their area.
This is the sort of thing we need to focus on, the generosity and care of people, not those who continually try to undermine and discredit us.
