Message to grandchildren on your ‘Tree of Hope.’

So here we are again, it is that time of year for our ‘Tree of Hope,’ to go up.

(We do have scaffolding all around the house at the moment so, may have to put it on the scaffolding!)

For those who don’t know for ten years now we have had a Christmas tree in our front garden, we call it our Tree of Hope, it is for grandparents to write messages to their grandchildren.

Obviously this year is going to have to be a bit different, we wont be able to have grandparents coming in person to put their messages on the tree, which is so sad.

This year even more than most we think the tree is so important.

This tree has become a beacon of light for so many people, and the children who pass our house going to school, wait for it to go up, many ask us what is for and many come and write messages to all grandparents who wont be seeing their precious grandchildren. Of course this year due to covid-19 there are many grandparents who will not see their grandchildren. The difference is that once we come out of this horrible time, they will be reunited, estranged and alienated grandparents will not be so fortunate.

So, if you are reading this thinking it is something you might like to get involved in this is how to do so.

All you need to do is to email me jane@bgsg.co.uk with your message, I will write it out on special waterproof labels and pop it on for you. You can do a fancy message if you prefer and I will print it out and laminate it to make it waterproof for you.

It is such a privilege to be able to write these wonderful words of love and to add them to the tree, watching them grow of course is sad, I wish we didn’t have to even think of doing this but it is also magical as the messages flutter in the breeze, shining out on these long dark days.

Please get in touch with me if you have any questions.

Your message can be short or long, it could be a poem, it is your message so personal to you.
