When we are trying to find our way through the anguish of estrangement,it can become overwhelming and all encompassing,
As I have written many times before, we go to bed at night carrying the despair and we wake in the morning still with this enormous burden of grief. Many of you will probably not be able to sleep, certainly not in the peaceful way we all need to keep healthy in body and mind.
There are many questions I am asked but one of the most common is,”How do I push through this.” Everyone will have their own strategies.
For me it is without doubt Mother Nature.
Whatever we are facing in our lives, the one thing that will always be constant and steadfast is Mother Nature.
She has no time for blame, revenge or judgement.
The sun will rise everyday and set every evening, the plants will continue to grow and flourish, the insects and animals will carry on their vital work, the tide will come in and go out, regardless of what we might be going through.
In a time when everything feels so uncertain and our personal life seems to be falling apart, Mother Nature is always there for us. We just need to be open hearted to let her in, to be at one with nature and to allow the healing powers to work its magic.
Woo,woo?
Now I am not one for shall I say, “Woo,woo” but I do know for sure that if I am feeling overwhelmed if I get outside and take notice of the surrounding area and drink it in, it does unburden me. (No offense meant to anyone.)
Just being in a beautiful forest, looking up into the tree canopy is so inspiring, who can deny the beauty of it all, from the crunching of Autumn leaves to the bright green buds that herald the Spring, year after year they do their magical thing.
It is not only being aware of everything around you but it is time for you to really focus on you.
Be aware of each breath, breathe deeply for the count of five, hold for four and breathe out for five, keep doing it and really concentrate on your breathing, slowing down your breathing will instantly relax you, you let go of the stress that is eating away at you.
If we allow nature to work its magic it can distract us from the hurt and pain we are suffering from. Allowing us to feel calm and balanced.
As humans we have an innate need to connect with plants and animals.
In nature we can feel free.
