Running a small charity takes a whole team of people around you.
A couple of weeks ago was Trustees Week, a timely reminder for all charities to acknowledge these wonderful people and to say a huge thank you.
Charity trustees are the people who share ultimate responsibility for governing a charity and directing how it is managed and run.
They are all volunteers, and it is a big responsibility.
Our trustees oversee that the charity is run in the interests of the grandparents we support.
Our trustees are always there for us to call on if needed and their support is imperative.
We all have the same aims and objectives, as set out in BGSG constitution which are :
To be of the public benefit to relieve the distress and suffering of grandparents who are separated from their grandchildren due to the breakdown of family relationships in particular but not exclusively by the provision of support, education and information.
To advocate the rights of grandchildren to have a loving and caring relationship with their grandparents.
For me personally it is such a privilege to work with these wonderful talented, skilled people knowing that their support for BGSG makes such a difference to so many people.
So a huge shout out from me to them all, and thank you so much for giving your time so freely and generously.
