Women and men can be equally violent.

Quite rightly there has been an outpouring of anger and sadness over the tragic loss of Arthur Labinjo-Hughes.

I have had grandparents from all over the UK, demanding that there is a change in the law for ‘Grandparents Rights.’

Those of you who know me already know my feelings on the rhetoric and language of grandparents rights, my focus has always been the rights of the children.

If grandparents had rights, would it have actually saved innocent children?

Everyone is so keen on rights for this that and everything, it is so  much more that that.

It is about all agencies and family members working together and always putting the welfare of children first.

Everyone should have a voice and should be listened to, regardless of who they are.

At present we have this huge movement on recognising violence towards women and girls, to the  extent that many radical feminists are portraying ALL men as bad, and that all boys need to be taught how to  respect women and girls.

Girls and boys need to be taught respect for each other, it is not one against the other.

Let us not forget it was a woman who killed little Arthur.

She is not the first and sadly will not be the last.

Women can be just as violent as men, women must accept that.

Violence, perpetrated by either male or female is abhorrent.

As a women I can write this, just imagine if a man did?

He would be hung out to dry.

I have mostly men in my family of all different ages, and not one of them disrespects women or men.

Personally, I like it if a man holds a door open for me, or gives up his seat on the bus, it is beyond me as to why some women think it is demeaning. I  would also give up my seat to  someone or hold a door open for someone, regardless of gender.

We have got to stop pitting one group  against the other, these extreme views must be tempered and we must learn to be kinder to everyone, the world is still in a precarious situation for many reason.

It is time to come together, for the sake of all children.

I  find it absurd that grandparents are interviewed and vetted when a family member is trying to adopt a child, and that  social services are only to keen for grandparents to become Kinship Carers, when parents can’t cope for a  variety of  reasons, and yet when it comes to child protection and safeguarding grandparents concerns are discounted.

Whether you are a Mum, Dad, Siblings, Grandparent, Uncle, Aunt, Cousins or a neighbour, you are duty bound to report  any concerns of child protection.

It  is vital that a discussion takes place with everyone.

No-one should be shut out, because they don’t have rights.

Children have no voice and everyone has to be their voice.

Update:

And so today another women has been charged with  the killing of  little Star, a 16 month old toddler. She suffered horrendous sustained injuries, once again the great grandparents concerns were discounted and no cause  for concern from social services.

How many more?
