It is always good to see the media reporting on issues to do with family breakdown, Family Court etc, but all too often the items are biased, that certainly has been the case this week, with items run by the BBC https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-66531409 .
I need to make it clear that any form of evidenced abuse it totally unacceptable. Any evidenced safeguarding issues must be dealt with promptly.
What is not acceptable is that these items reported were gender specific.
Abuse, violence and unjustified estrangement happen to both men and women.
Why is it that men are airbrushed?
Many Dads find their lives intolerable as a result of bad decisions made by the Family Court, many men take their own lives as a result of not being allowed to see their own children.
I know from my own experience with the media, that they are very hot on making sure they give everyone a right to reply and in getting a proper balanced view, so why was this not done in this case?
If women want true equality, they must accept that these terrible situations are happening to all genders, that women can be as violent and abusive as anyone else.
Whatever our gender, we all want to make sure children are safe and happy and that their needs are put at the forefront of decisions being made on their behalf.
There must be open and honest discussions on this tragedy, and we must remove gender from those discussions.
Violence and abuse against any other human being, whatever their gender is unacceptable and has to be dealt with properly and promptly.
