Dear Grandchild,

Every grandparent who is unjustifiably estranged from their grandchildren, wants them to know how much they are loved, not being able to say it to their grandchildren is heartbreaking and cruel.

I know when my granddaughter came back into our lives, it was one of the first thingsĀ  I said to her, even if everything fell apart again, at least I would have told her that we never stopped loving her.

I asked grandparents to tell me what they would like to say to their grandchildren, and their words say it all:

“Gran & Grandad love you and think of you every day. We would love to know what you enjoy & things you do. We hope one day to hear your stories of what you have been up to . You will always be in our hearts; you are part of us.”

“We miss you every day.”

“We talk to you every day, hoping you know how much we still love you. We will always be here for you both. Always loved in our hearts. Xx”

“We will always love you and we will always be here for them, when they are ready.”

“We just love him even though we have never met him and he will always be welcome in our family.”

“I love them and think about hem every day, they are always in our hearts and the door is always open for them.”

“You is the first thing I think about when I wake and the last thing I think about before I go to sleep. I want you to know that you are the best, most wonderful wee man ever, and that it is not your fault because the adults messed up.”

“We never stopped loving you.”

“My dear sweet little boy … Nanny misses you so much and thinks about you every day. I hope that one day we will be able to spend some time together. ”

“We love and miss you so much. We think of you every day. We hope one day we will be together again and enjoy wonderful times like we used to have together. Forever in our hearts. Love you to the moon and back! ”

“Thinking of you both always.”

“We have never stopped loving our grandchildren, and hope and pray that one day they will get in touch with their family.”

“We hold you in our hearts every single day.”

“We long for you to get in touch and will welcome you all with open arms.”

“We did everything in our power to protect you. We knew that every attempt we have made to contact you made your lives more difficult. We made sure that you know we always love you and will accept you back with open arms when you are ready.”

“Love you always and forever, never ending.”

“Our best friend and grandson. We never ever abandoned you. You have never been forgotten. Every day we have prayed for you to come. You are always in our head and in our heart. We love you so very very much and want you back in our lives as you should be and have every right to be. We must catch up on lost time.”

“My Angels ..I often wonder whether you think about me or asks questions ….. I think about you every single Day and wish with all my heart you knew that and also that I will never stop loving and missing you both … So many years lost that I have missed getting to know all about you both… I hope one day that changes …always in my heart …. much love Nanna xxxx”

Every single one mentions that word, the one word that says everything, and needs no explanation.

An estimated, two million children are being denied the unconditional love of their grandparents, just in the UK
