Messages to our grandchildren.

Some of you will know that for 10 years we have put up a Christmas Tree in our front garden it is called our “Tree of Hope.”

It is for grandparents to write messages to their wonderful grandchildren, those who can’t come and write them in person email me with their message and I write them out and put them on the tree.

They are written with waterproof pen onto plastic labels so that they survive weather!

In the dark days of December and dark days of estrangement and alienation this little tree becomes our beacon of light.

It also raises awareness that there will be millions of grandchildren who will not be seeing their grandparents this Christmas.

We are very close to a primary school, and the children stop and look at the tree and ask what it is for, so it also educational. I hope by telling the children what it is all about that one day they will remember, and think twice before making the wrong decision when they are older, and that they will have the responsibility to make sure whatever happens in their adult life ,that they always put their children first, and to ensure they have a loving and caring relationship with both parents and grandparents.

If you would lie a message added please do email me and I will make sure that it joins the wonderful messages of love. E: jane@bgsg.co.uk
